'In 2016 the BBC Proms is coming to Melbourne for a limited season. This is the first time the Proms has been held outside of the UK in this way and promises to be a triumphant celebration of classical music. It will also mark the first time that orchestras from three Australian cities play together in one program.'
Unfortunately the 'Last Night of the Proms' is already sold out due to high demand- but there are still tickets available for the Opening Night at Hamer Hall on the 13th of April, and for the second and third nights (which feature the Queensland Symphony Orchestra) on the 14th and 15th of April. The opening night concert will feature a world premiere by Nigel Westlake and pieces by Berlioz and Saint-Saens. The following nights feature works by Gershwin, Bernstein, Ginastera and more. Tickets range from $79-$159.
