Gates open at 4:30pm, concert starts at 7:30pm. And its FREE! This is a great chance to see the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in all its glory- without having to pay a cent! Go early to pick up 'tickets' for entry, then come back to secure a place on the lawn with your picnic rug! This event is family friendly and is a great way to spend a summer evening. You can bring a picnic rug/food and drinks as long as you have no glass items, otherwise you can also purchase these at the event.
US conductor Joshua Weilerstein makes his MSO debut with two appropriately American works- John Adam's 'Short Ride in a Fast Machine' and George Gershwin's spiky 'Piano Concerto', with Stefan Cassomenos as the soloist. The concert then concludes with Dvorak's 'Symphony No. 7'.
